Question: How to open US bank account and get Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) for Non US Citizens?

Can I obtain an EIN ?? if I am not an US resident or citizen?
Im planing to join a network business via online which requires tax id and US bank account..

What are the details/document do i need?
What is the cost?
Can it be done via online???

Answer: No, stop, don't do this.

1. If the entity you want to pay you only accepts US persons as members, do NOT pretend that you are. The entity would pay you, then issue you a 1099-Misc and a copy to the IRS. The IRS would, rightly, assume you are subject to US taxes and demand a tax return. (US taxes start at income of $400 for self-employment purposes.)

2. If the entity that is to pay you knows you are *not* a US person, they should also know they don't issue a 1099-Misc.

3. While there are US banks that will open accounts for you (and you DO NOT need an ITIN for a bank account, even if it pays interest), most won't do it unless you open the account in person, in the US.

I live in california. I worked for mervyns for two weeks in 2008 how do i obtain there state id number without a previous w2 or calling them cause I already tried calling and it didnt help. and I dont need the federal EIN I already have that

Question: Am i alone?

my father was a achololic for most of my life, there were times though when he was okay, but a lot of the time he would be drinking and lie to me. it has really affected me because i have trust problems with any one i have any sort of relationship with. i constantly find my self feeling like everyone i know is hiding something from me. my dad just recently died from his drinking problem and i am 13. i have a lot of rly good friends who will listen to me, but none of them can seriously relate to me and how i am feeling. i know there are lots of people with acholics in their family, but is any one out ther ein the same type of situatuion as me? am i really alone?

Answer: My husband is an alcoholic and hides things from me as well. I know how you feel with not be able to trust anyone because he has made so many promises and broke every one of them. How can you trust after experiencing something like that. Just keep in mind there are good people out there.
Hang in there sweetie. You have a lot of life ahead of you and wonderful things will come. People will have to earn your trust and if they are worth it they will.

Question: Do most online company’s have a federal tax ID?

I want to check out this company that’s coming from this email: tradebosscomputercompany@gmail.com

They had me setup online chat through Yahoo Messenger and had me post an ad through Craiglist for $25. They said this would be their way of trusting me with their funds since I would be an Accounting clerk. They asked for banking info in the beginning, but I refused. Now they want to send a check to me in the mail to buy their Accounting software and reimburse me for the $25. How do I make sure this isn’t a scam?

Answer: This is a definite scam.

No legitimate company ever uses a free gmail account for email.

No legitimate company ever puts prospective employees through "trust tests". This is probably illegal,as it is a form of discrimination.

And no company will ever ask for banking information. You were right to refuse.

Just move on, and be thankful that you now know its a scam.
