Question: How do I determine withholding for taxes for employees?

We own a small pub and employ about a dozen very part time employees. I need to withhold state and federal taxes from their paychecks. I went on to the IRS’ website and the State of WI websites but I’m confused because there are about 60 pages of stuff to read. I can’t afford a payroll service for employees whose checks are about $20. Can anyone send me a link to the two tables that I should be using to determine withholding? Thanks.
Thanks Dee Dee, but if I had paperwork, I’d be reading it. We used to have a service do our payroll but can no longer afford it.

Answer: Payroll services exist because a) the hassle and b) the horrendous penalties if you do it wrong or do it late and c) the ease of which disgruntled employees will quit.

Fica/MC is 6.2% and 1.45%.
