Estimated Tax Payment Calculator

Question: calculator for how much home I can afford?
Does anyone know of an online calculator to estimate how expensive a house I can afford TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE TAX DEDUCTABILITY OF INTEREST PAYMENTS? It seems like all the calculators I’ve looked at leave this factor out. Thanks.
Thanks everyone. And thanks especially for your concerns that I’ll overspend. I’m financially conservative to start so finding the theoretical max is more of an interesting thought experiment.
Regarding the 28% rule from jim06744, how much should go to a car payment? (since I live in NYC and can presumably wrap the transportation allocation, minus the token $76 monthly subway fare, to my home expense budget).
Answer: The reason you do not find the interest calculation in online estimators is that home lenders do not take that into account when figuring your mortgage. You can’t use the interest deduction to your advantage on your home loan application, so it doesn’t help you afford more home.
Hope this helps.

The date the 2008 payment was originally received?
Some other date?
The 2008 overpayment applied to 2009 will be MORE (by a little) than the amount of the 2009 estimate.
I haven’t made any estimated payments this year.
I just filed 9/15/2009.
Answer: if your overpayment was greater than 1/4th of the estimated for 2009, it will apply to the April payment and possibly some to the Sept. payment
your 1040ES divides the payments more or less evenly over the 4 payments, however, if there are changes in your income during the year, you can adjust those
you want to make sure your estimated amounts to at least what your tax liability was for 2008
