Earned Income Credit History

Earned Income Credit History

Question: Can I get a car loan with my financial situation?

I’ve recently just paid off a previous car note and I feel the experience went pretty well, I was generally on time with all my payments, but unfortunately my credit history wasn’t documented because it was a “buy here pay here” type of deal. My credit score is pretty decent, but I know the rates I want won’t be as good(credit score b/t 660-670 Equifax). I have student loans and two credit card accounts on my credit report, no negative accounts, but I do have public accounts that SHOULD be in the process of being removed because of false information. I’ve been at my job for close to five years. My income, I feel, is enough to make $200-$350 payments per month, plus I earn funds from school to assist with other obligations. I also have a reasonable down payment saved up. So with all this info considered, do you think I’ll be approved for a car loan of about $15K, If I apply for one? And, do dealerships consider school loans and/or grants apart of income? Thanx for your answers.

Answer: the short answer is yes – if you have a down payment. If you try to hit 0 down it will be difficult. Be ready for a less-than-great interest rate as well.

BHPH lots do a disservice to people like you. You made all the payments, and it did nothing for yor credit score.

Good Luck

Question: What should you put down on your resume if you sold on eBay full time for 4 years but didn’t files taxes?

I sold on eBay and had my own website full time from 2001 to 2005. I only filed taxes for 2005 when I made a profit. I did apply for an EIN# with the IRS, but did not file for a state or local business license. I have worked a “normal” job since 2006 and my employers didn’t care about my previous business.

Now I have been offered a chance to apply for a position at a major bank and the lack of taxes filed and a business license can deter them from hiring me.

Should I put down on my resume that I was out of the country — working in Europe/Ireland — instead of stating I did eBay full time? It’s not completely dishonest. I did spend a lot of time in Ireland between 2001 and 2005 and worked when I was younger at my cousin’s restaurant there.

NO SPAM PLEASE.

Answer: Tell the truth, that you sold on ebay for four years and committed tax evasion. Your tax liability is based on personal income, not profitability.
