Question: How to apply for EIN Online?

I just finished filling out the adobe form ss-4, however, it wont let me sign it…i dont know what or where to go from now to get the ein number?

help please???
Edit: how do i submit the form…

if its a partnership, does it matter whose name is listed on the form?

could i just call in and give them the info off the form?

what am i doing wrong here???

Answer: Call them you can fax the form.

Question: Anyone else think Obama will have a hard getting the money he needs to support all his new policies?

Funny thing about rich people and smart business owners…they didn’t get where they are by making stupid decisions. When you have money you can afford the best accountants who figure out the best way to hide their money from the tax collectors. Latest word is a lot of small business owners are planning to put enough money into tax exempt municipal bonds to keep them under 250k. This is great for the infrastructure of our cities but it doesn’t help to pay for Obama’s new policies. I believe the same thing that happened with Bill Clinton will happen to Obama. He will realize that he is not getting enough money from the rich to support his policy so he will have to raise taxes on all of us. I don’t know if it will happen in his first 3 months as president like Clinton but it inevitably will happen. I’m not totally against his proposed policies but there is no way he is going to get all the money he needs from only 5% of the people.

Answer: I suspect that’s why most of them go into politics; they get a hard thinking about all the money.

Question: If I have earned literally no money in a financial year, am I liable for a £100 late filing penalty? (UK)?

In 2005 I set up an illustration company whilst at university. It was just so everything would be above board if I got work through clients.

To date, I have never earned over £1000 a year from this business, and in fact, in the last financial year (April 2006 to April 2007) I did not recieve a single commision.

Last year, due to being hospitalised over the january deadline my forms weren’t completed untill February. However, I was not liable for a £100 fine as I did not earn enough money to pay any tax.

It looks to be the same again this year – Except I have absolutely no money whatsoever and ergo have no tax to pay. I now have to file my tax returns online. If they are not completed by 31st January 2009 will I be fined £100? or will it be like last year where I didn’t earn enough to recieve the fine?

If you provide an answer I would appreciate you providing your source.

Answer: You will initially be charged this penalty if no Return received by tax office on 01/02/09. You should appeal on the grounds on no tax due. When you do file, if there is no tax due the penalty is wiped out.
You still have to file your Tax Return, and the penalty will not be cancelled until you do.

Question: employee identification number search?

i am attempting to file taxes but don’t know the ein number for sandia heating and plumbing in bernalillo nm….didn’t want to wait till w-2’s to file

Answer: Hi, Glenda! I wish I could direct you straight to a website where you could look it up, but I can’t. I’ve done a lot of searching and unfortunately, I don’t think any Free EIN lookup websites exist (I don’t know why the IRS can’t post a searchable database like most state websites have for state-specific filings). Your best option is probably to call them directly and see if someone can verbally tell you.

The only online options are websites that charge for EIN lookups. But even THEY don’t have a comprehensive list of all businesses (check the 2nd link under “Source(s)” for one site’s explanation), so you’re not guaranteed of finding this particular company. These types of sites just keep adding to their list as they learn new EINs.

That said – at least freeERISA.com offers three free searches before you have to get a paid subscription. If you think you can get the EIN you’re looking for within three searches, check them out at the link below. Otherwise, try a few phone calls. Good luck!

Answer: Ask a coworker or person you know who worked for the company before. They may have a statement of earnings copy from previous years.
