Question: Explain this German grammar, why is eine used in “Ich bin eine Frau”, instead of ein.?

but why does ein go with Madchen? Since that means girl shouldn’t it be feminine as well?

Answer: It's... die Frau, but ..... das Mädchen.
Eine Frau, ein Mädchen.

The INDEFINITE ARTICLE ("a" or "an" in English) is ein or eine in German.
Ein basically means "one" and like the definite article, it indicates the gender of the noun it goes with (eine or ein).

For a feminine noun, only eine can be used (in the nominative case).
For masculine or neuter nouns, only ein is correct.
This is a very important concept to learn!
It is also reflected in the use of possessive adjectives such as sein(e) (his) or mein(e) (my), which are also called "ein-words."

Question: how do IRS know if I am working as an independent contractor?

I am planning to work as an independent contractor and my employer said you have to report your income to IRS. If I do not report how IRS know that? If they do not know who pays the tax, this is ridiculous. Then it is nonsense to work as an employee if independent contractors have such advantage.
Thank you for the responses. However, the point is 1099 Misc form is sent to you by “employer” not to IRS, therefore IRS has no information what is going on unless Independent contractor claim his/her earnings. Employer do not send 1099 to IRS. Am I wrong?

Answer: The IRS most certainly gets a copy of it. Companies submit a 1096 which is a transmittal form for all the 1099s they issued. And when you're a 1099 contractor you pay self employment tax (the whole 15.3% of social security and medicare) which when you have a regular job you pay 1/2 and the employer pays 1/2.

Question: How do I account for personal funds used to buy things for my business?

I own a small ATV repair business and am having to pay for all the parts and materials used by the business with my own money. I am using Quickbooks for my business accounts. Should I create an expense account to keep track of everything I am buying or can I just list them as investments I am making into the business?

Answer: Daddy and I call it "Owners Equity Cash Injection". It would be easier to tabulate this on a monthly basis. If your small business is a sole proprietorship, I would recommend injecting a surplus as operations capital. Depending on your state laws, or if your business in incorporated, you could actually make and interest bearing loan from yourself to your company. The money you loaned the company was already yours and had already been taxed. You don't want to be taxed on it again in 6 months or so when you go to get it back from your business.
