Question: which accounting software is better for a small business?

I am trying to control 4 separate businesses from one location. Basicly checking on sales,expenses, profit & loss, bank deposits and other similar reports. Each business has its own system and reports to the headquarter on daily basis. I am looking for an accounting software that will fit this scenario…I just need to receive, compile and generate additional reports from the data provided. would it be Peachtree accounting software or Microsoft accounting express or if there are any other please do let me know.
