Small Business Tax Secrets

Question: Is persistance the secret to success?

I run a small business in my spare time importing goods from around the world and sell them locally. The money I bring in helps fund me while I study. Everything I do is legal and I go through the appropriate lagal steps, but even though I did everything according to the book, my package was held in customs for 2 weeks and they then charged me a large amount of tax and clearance fees. This was because the exchange rate dropped and sent the declared price of the goods above the allowed median. Some of the goods were damaged internally due to transit and now items have been sent back to me by customers. I will just scrape through with savings to pay people back etc. Now for my question… Should I dump this business or persist? If I persist and invest what money I have left, do you think it will pay off?

Any other ideas will be apreciated.

Answer: Yes, persistence is the secret to sucess after that you've proven the waters for a short lenght of time, but not to further your lost on and on for years to come.

A person must know more of what other ideas you have to go on from here or your experience in other areas for a resolve on this matter.

It's best to change it after much careful consideration before you get in a spot where you cannot turn the battle ship around...as in, "You can't turn a battle ship around in mid stream"...it's a very good suggestion.

You will be the best judge of your personal answers for you have what it takes to go forward. Try that gut feeling it most of the time works, I've read!

Other Suggestions:
You must decide what other business you can do. If you travel a lot you may want to sell your pictures of nature that you could take pictures and sell them for calendars, and to vacation resorts and travel agencies.

At the vacation resorts, travel agencies it would be helpful to tell them for each picture that you took, the place of the photo,State or origin, country, etc., the date, time and the weather condition on that day at the time of the year you took it. Whether it was raining, sunny, cloudy, etc. and that way you'll be your own boss of what happens to your products...they use this for their advertising.

Remember nature is free for the taking it belongs to GOD!
Get a beautiful pic of a sunny day with blue skies and clouds, sunsets, etc. and an eagle in flight across lakes and streams, oceans and land! .

Take some good pics if you decide to go that route! It's all in your travels...may as well get paid for them too.

A digital camera and a laptop will work wonders!
Hope this helps.
