Question: Can I start a business at 16 years old in Virginia?

I want to start a graphic/web design business for churches & small businesses. Also, if I spend $1,500 to get started and make less then that, will I have to file taxes?

Answer: No and Yes.

You will have to either have a guardian file for your (can be an attorney or your parents), and yes you will have ti file taxes.

The only way around this is that you are emancipated. Making you a legal adult.

Otherwise you cant form your own company until you are 18 without help.
